Richard Harding - Co-Founder
Richard has over 14 years of experience in selling houses and advising clients about their real estate assets. He has worked in and around Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and North Hampshire, initially with a small independent firm then latterly as a partner within a leading national firm. During this time he has sold some of the best houses in the area. Richard has also gained a post graduate qualification with The College of Estate Management, which underpins and broadens his knowledge of all aspects of real estate, in particular development, planning and valuation. Richard lives in Streatley with his two daughters Jemima and Beatrice and the family/office dog Bertie.
James Theunissen - Co-Founder
After his education at Douai Abbey, James spent five years as a cricketer in the UK and the southern hemisphere. Playing sport at a high level has given James a drive to succeed, as well as an understanding of how to be a real team player. Before founding Black Cygnet Properties in 2017, James worked at two leading national estate agencies for 12 years. Specialising in developments and seeing the potential in houses, James has had much success over the years helping his clients maximise the value of their homes. Well trusted, he is often the first port of call for a number of developers. James lives in Bucklebury village with his wife Sarah and two daughters Amelia and Charlotte.
Alex Cavill - Director
With almost 10 years’ experience in the property industry, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for helping clients achieve the best possible outcome. Before moving into property, he enjoyed a successful career teaching Design and Engineering, developing the communication and problem-solving skills that continue to serve his clients today.
For the past seven years, Alex has advised buyers and sellers of country houses across West Berkshire, North Hampshire and East Wiltshire. His extensive local knowledge, combined with a deep understanding of property values and buyer expectations, enables him to provide thoughtful, strategic advice on every aspect of the sales process, from pricing and presentation through to negotiation.
Alex lives in Hungerford with his wife, Rebecca, and their son, Rupert. Outside of work, he is a passionate cyclist and runs the Hungerford Cycling Club, making him a familiar face in the local community and giving him a strong network of connections throughout the area.
